SQL and Data Representations (Winter 2025)

TAS 293

Mar 25, 2025 - May 2, 2025

Equity and inclusion are top-of-mind concerns in all types of organizations as a fundamental management practice and competitive edge to retain employees, customers, and members. Smart teams are increasingly examining how organizational data are represented and structured in order to fully engage their DEIB goals. Nazareth University offers a unique undergraduate degree in Ethical Data Science which prepares students with rigorous training in human-centered computer/information science, mathematics, statistics, sociology, and philosophy. This learning experience seeks to provide students with hands-on skills in the design, development, and use of MySQL, an industry-standard, free open source Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) to effectively structure, store, and query data. Further, students will use ethical principles to construct database models and database administration policies that integrate principles of personal privacy, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
