This Riipen project provided an opportunity for me as a nursing student to gain knowledge and experience within community health nursing, specifically, in the area of harm reduction strategies for persons who use drugs (PWUD). I feel it has greatly enhanced my understanding of the issues these individuals face, and now I am able to apply this information to my professional nursing practice. This project highlighted the importance of client advocacy and social justice for marginalized communities.

Harm Reduction Awareness Marketing Campaign

The Réseau ACCESS Network aims to create a comprehensive marketing campaign to highlight the benefits of Harm Reduction programs and services. The goal is to educate the public and stakeholders about the importance and effectiveness of these programs in reducing harm related to substance use. The campaign will leverage evidence-based research and data, as well as insights and testimonials from People With Lived and Living Experience/Expertise (PWLLE), and people who have lost loved ones to the toxic drug supply. The project will involve creating engaging video content and a series of social media posts to disseminate this information widely. This initiative seeks to foster a better understanding and acceptance of Harm Reduction strategies within the community. Key points: - Educate the public on Harm Reduction benefits. - Use evidence-based research and data. - Incorporate insights from PWLLE. - Create social media content (potentially short videos). - Promote community understanding and acceptance. - Reduce stigma and look at how many stigma campaigns have led to increased stigma.
