Founded in 1956, the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) is an association of nonprofit independent colleges and universities, state-based councils, and higher education affiliates that works to support college and university leadership, advance institutional excellence, and enhance public understanding of independent higher education’s contributions to society.
CIC is the major national organization that focuses on providing services to leaders of independent colleges and universities and state-based councils. CIC offers conferences, seminars, publications, and other programs and services that help institutions improve educational quality, administrative and financial performance, student outcomes, and institutional visibility.
CIC and Riipen have joined forces in a multi-year work-based learning initiative to benefit 25 member institutions. This collaboration will integrate work-based learning opportunities into up to 375 courses led by 125 faculty members and impacting up to 11,250 students.

Professional Programming Project - 2025
CIT 4203
Bring on learners from Elms College to be your learner-consultants, in a project-based experience. This senior capstone project course allows students to create a large professional programming project. During this course, learners develop strong programming, project planning, and coding skills. Through this experience, learners will also design and execute large-scale programming projects while engaging in professional collaboration. Students are experienced in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, Java, C#, ASP.NET, SQL, ReactJS.
Digital Video Collaboration

My Digital Video students are capable of storyboarding, pitching, shooting and editing video using standard DSLR cameras and sync-sound recording to help in the formation of thematic short films and social media campaigns. They will also have some experience at this point in the semester with simple graphics overlays and transitions, though this should not be main emphasis of the work (explainer or whiteboard videos not a fit).

Smart teams are increasingly examining how organizational data are represented and structured in order to fully engage their DEIB goals. Nazareth University offers a unique undergraduate degree in Ethical Data Science which prepares students with rigorous training in human-centered computer/information science, mathematics, statistics, sociology, and philosophy. This learning experience seeks to provide students with hands-on skills in the design, development, and use of MySQL, an industry-standard, free open source Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) to effectively structure, store, and query data. Further, students will use ethical principles to construct database models and database administration policies that integrate principles of personal privacy, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

Calling All Business Owners: Fuel Creative Innovation with Us! At Allegheny College, we're shaping the next generation of photographers who are passionate about using their creative lens to drive change and make an impact. Our Photography course goes beyond the art of capturing moments; it's about empowering students to explore the role and potential of the photographic medium in today's society. Learners in this program/experience can create content for print and online mediums, take impactful photographs, as well as use effective layout design principles. Additionally, students are capable of crafting compelling stories on a variety of topics, adjusting photos and laying out content using industry-standard software. We're seeking business owners who are as passionate about collaboration as we are. Your ideal project should have a clear business problem statement. Projects can range from research-focused to task-focused or even a blend of both. We appreciate partners who are open to negotiating project scope, ensuring it's a win-win for all involved.
