UX/UI For Internal Applications

Number of positions available: One or more teams with one or more students We are creating an Indoor Vertical Farming system, and are working on creating a full seed to plate infrastructure. We have a number of different subsystems that are used by internal staff. We require a quality UX/UI design that is consistent across all the subsystems. Each subsystem has a unique database. The database will have connections to data in other subsystems. The requirements include: a) Support multiple languages b) Have a configuration settings c) Have data entry - some are significant, some are relatively small d) Status reporting of what is in the database e) Editing of data in the database f) Different types of reporting on the data Network - Manages the entire Farm Network Assembly - An ERP system (extending Odoo) to manage the manufacturing Agronomist - Maintains our grow formulas and marketing materials Grower - A full analysis system to review all the farms AI - (Not currently available) Uses the data in Grower to create new grow formulas Gardner - Manages the hardware for the Vertical Acre according to the grow formula specifications Pavilion - Manages the HVAC system according to the grow formula specifications Germinator - Manages the hardware for the Incubator Barn - Manages the farm Farmer - An ERP system (extending Odoo) to manage the farm Inspector - Monitors the equipment and production Director - Provides an API to mobile applications and 3rd party software The students will a) Work with our Marketing Team to develop and test a UX b) Work with our Data Architect to capture the relevant user data and store it in our DB c) Write the App code to implement the App specification. d) Be responsible for fixing any bugs. e) Ensure the App meets all technical requirements of the Android and Apple app stores. We have extensive internship program with over 50+ students at any time. We need a person to oversee the program. This will include: Ensuring Interns are performing - this is done in coordination with Project Managers Helping onboard and staffing the different projects Expanding the reach of our Internship program Responding to Student queries Supporting the Project Managers staffing and meeting needs Assisting the President on meeting with the students teams on a regular baisis Maintaining the Orientation Curriculum

Local Grown Salads is implementing its Customer Layer Applications. These applications are designed to for specific customer types. They also common features and so we want to ensure a common technology base. The way the user may use the application feature will be different. The five applications are: LGS Distributor – intended for food distributors LGS Manufacturing – intended for food manufacturers LGS Retailer – intended for food retailers LGS Food Service – intended for food service companies LGS Consumer – intended for consumers The applications integrate and are part of the LGS EcoSystem. Some capabilities needed by LGS Manufacturing: Food Manufacturing companies can have multiple factories. Sketchup Building Layouts With Some Walkthroughs

We have a number of Building models we want to enhance build in using Sweet Home 3D, a Shareware 3D modeling software. They have been "Good Enough" but now we want to take them to next level and make them much more realistic. (https://www.sweethome3d.com/) There are about 1/2 models and would like to add some more. The models are built from our own modules, so we need photo-realistic versions of those modules. It's a good project to learn how 3D modeling is in used in the real world. We don't have any walk throughs, so creating a walk through approach will be needed.

We are an Indoor Vertical Farming company that produces and sells our own equipment to licensed and "White Labeled" Farms Operates a Network of Licensed farms Owns licensed farms Manages Licensed farms for 3rd party owners Provides ongoing services to the licensed farms and the "white labeled" Farms We have problems pricing everything our technology. our services, and our support. We are looking for help to solve pricing for all the above parts of the business. We currently have some models in place, but they are leaving money on the table and are confusing for our customers. We have a significant cost advantages compared to our competition. But if we leverage our prices too much, we look too inexpensive and don't appear to be a serious player.

Enhancing 3D Shareware Software

Local Grown Salads uses Sweet Home 3D, its Shareware 3D software. https://www.sweethome3d.com/ We use the Software to design some standard for our customers. We would like to add some features to the software to make our process smoother. Where possible, we would like to make the features available to other users of the software. Some of the extensions Adding rules on Models to ensure they are place correctly. Calculations and CSV files of what is being used to add to our purchasing Walk through videos. There are imaging and animation in place, but setting it up is a major pain Standard lighting added to our models - the lighting models are not in place Simpler ways to add our layouts As we develop our features, we would like to add them.

Creating 3D Models

Local Grown Salads uses Sweet Home 3D, its Shareware 3D software. https://www.sweethome3d.com/ We use the Software to design some standard for our customers. Currently we copy and paste components that are simplistic and not very realistic. Sweet Home 3D has the ability to import "Furniture" which can then be placed. We would like 3D Models of our standard components to be created. Then when we do a layout and generate some images, we will have much more realistic images.

Odoo On AWS Design & Configuration

Odoo Is Open Source ERP System We are building 2 different Odoo Configurations which will be hosted on AWS. LGS Assembly LGS Farmer LGS Assembly is a single instance implementation which will be used to manage our manufacturing environment LGS Farmer is a multi-instance environment. Each Indoor Vertical Farm will have its own instance of LGS Farmer. And a unique set of users. Users from one Farm cannot be able to access any other farm. We need the ability to update the procedures and what not for each instance of the LGS Farmer We need to have procedures for each Instance of LGS Farmer for bringing on new employees, removing employee, etc. We need procedures to ensure we can accurately invoice the Farms for their use of AWS and Odoo.

Raspberry Pi Projects

We are building 3 different Raspberry Pi projects. JIRA Technician/Story Refinement

We are currently using a project management software called JIRA that manages our product backlog. We are looking for someone to own epics, stories, and tasks so developers can pull from the ordered list to determine what is needed to implement during the sprints. During this internship, students are treated as equals. We value their opinions and ask them to present their opinions to discuss the topics and potentially adapt our marketing plan accordingly. The main benefit of seeing all stages of development is giving interns the freedom to develop their skill set. Skills students will develop: Project management Agile and Scrum Communication in a virtual environment Familiarity with JIRA Taking responsibility Presentation skills for a business environment
