Details

CanAge is building out a training program for financial institutions (FIs) including banks, credit unions, financial planners, and other employees within this space. We've opted for an LMS suite that has the flexibility we need to scale our training offerings, but we want to ensure that we're able to apply the right kind of infrastructure and security to ensure that the environment is well-protected against attacks. We are not collecting a ton of data, but we will collect user data (names, emails, branch locations, etc.) and we want to be able to provide assurances to the FIs that their employee data is as safe as it can be.

This project was funded through a grant from Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED) through this solicitation.

Note: Data must be stored on Canadian-based servers.

Deliverables
  • Conduct a sweep of the script that's been purchased and ensure that appropriate measures have been taken to safeguard end-user data
  • Optimize the script installation (https://lms.rocket-soft.org) for use in the AWS environment
  • Make recommendations for ongoing security management. As a not for profit organization, we intend to outsource this function moving forward. To date, services like www.sucuri.net are being explored, but we prefer Canadian services
  • Make recommendations for other AWS-cloud services to enhance the application including SES and other services
  • Conduct all of this while leveraging all services and benefits that AWS offers to nonprofits (https://aws.amazon.com/government-education/nonprofits/nonprofit-credit-program/) - CanAge is a qualified recipient of these services through our TechSoup Global account

https://lms.rocket-soft.org has been purchased, and all available add-ons, and will be provided in a consolidated installation file upon project confirmation.

Mentorship

We are only too happy to provide:

  • A briefing document along with a facilitated overview of the important themes and needs for the project
  • Any key messages, target audiences and available creative assets to help them understand the brand
  • A single point of contact (POC) assigned to your course and students, with a team of experts available for questions
  • Access to Slack, Google Workspace, and some other project management tools. We welcome the students so they can feel as though they are part of the team, or at arm's length - whatever is best.
  • *For those running courses outside of Canada*, we'll provide guidance and direction for the students to better understand the Canadian business (and geographical) landscape, along with openly available sources of data that could be useful in making their assessments.
  • Recognition of the school's involvement and the students' work in a media release (if permitted) and attribution of the students' contributions via LinkedIn or references as required.
